MML's Top 10 Albums of the 2000s (+1)

I couldn’t pick just 10.

Despite feeling for a long time that the past decade in music sucked big-time, eventually I really thought about it and realized it wasn’t as bad as all that. As early as last spring, my editor knee started aching as clouds formed for the downpour of “top 10 albums of the ’00s” lists soon to come. Having arrived in Paris in May 2004, I see only three of these records have been released since I’ve been living in Europe. Bygones. Forthwith: my favorite albums list of the aughties, plus one. (Apologies in advance to everyone who thought my tastes were super-eclectic 100% of the time; the list is pop with a Warholian “P.”)

  1. Radiohead, Kid A

  2. Jay-Z, The Blueprint

  3. Kanye West, Late Registration

  4. Beck, Sea Change

  5. Madonna, Confessions on a Dance Floor

  6. Coldplay, A Rush of Blood to the Head

  7. D’Angelo, Voodoo

  8. Radiohead, Amnesiac

  9. Justin Timberlake, FutureSex/LoveSounds

  10. Bjork, Vespertine

  11. Kanye West, 808s & Heartbreak

And please, list your list below.
